Tremors!

So there was an earthquake here yesterday afternoon!

It actually didn't happen in Costa Rica, but in the ocean- on the news it looked like the pacific side. It was a 6.1 though, so it was felt even here. Julie, Marisa, Caleb and I were walking home during it, so to our great disapointment, we didn't feel anything. Anyone who was inside or was stationary at the time did though- when the four of us got to Julie and Marisa's house, their family told us about it- the hanging plants were still swinging back and forth, and the dogs were all freaking out.

Jeri Lynn and Mandy were sitting on their porch in Conversa, and they said all the doors started fluttering and it sounded like thunder. Jeri Lynn swears that she thought she was in a war zone.

My host dad told me that earthquakes are common this time of year- when the seasons change.

It doesn't seem like there was any damage to speak of as a result, which I'm thankful for. I just wish we could have felt it!!

Anyway, we have an awesome weekend ahead of us. We're going to Puerto Viejo for a zipline/ canopy tour/ ATV ride/ tree climbing and waterfall repelling adventure! I'm so excited!!!

Have a beautiful weekend!
